POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The position is responsible for following established procedures, utilizing automated and manual systems, to sort, and process, deliver and track incoming and outgoing mail for headquarters facilities and receive and process package and pallet shipments and courier deliveries.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work cooperatively with other Attendants, sort, and slot mail and packages for Headquarters facilities, using manual operating procedures and processes.
• Process incoming and outgoing mail utilizing postage meters, and PC and proprietary software.
• Delivers to and picks up mail from various Chico’s locations and facilities, using hand carts and/or driving golf carts or other company vehicles as appropriate, assuring adherence to established routes and schedules.
• Assists with shipping procedures for packages leaving Headquarters facility, completing automated forms, and utilizing automated and manual systems to compile data and track delivery records.
• Opens, sorts, and distributes samples to various departments and brands.
• Stuff, Fold, and Pack special projects for HR and Marketing as needed.
• In cooperation with other attendants, on rotating basis, coordinates opening and closing procedures involving starting up or closing equipment and automated systems, re-setting dates, opening/closing manifests, etc., and assuring facility security.
• In cooperation with Receiving/Transport Attendants, participates in the loading and unloading of palletized and non-palletized shipments from trucks into receiving area and/or from receiving to designated storage and distribution areas, the checking in of shipments, the sorting and labeling of shipments for storage or distribution, and the processing of returns of damaged or otherwise unacceptable shipments.
• Unloads and records courier deliveries (350-450 per day). Delivers and picks up sorted mail and packages to/from four Headquarters buildings, and supplies and other items to storage and all departments and on occasion to/from offsite locations.
• Maintains storage areas in good order.
• Occasionally, on as needed basis, provides backup assistance in the Production Center with folding, stapling, hole punching, binding, collating, etc. projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Detail orientation, with the ability to learn, retain, follow and communicate policies and procedures correctly, perform all tasks with extreme accuracy, and adapt to changing conditions
• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of internal and external customers in a pleasant, courteous and efficient manner
• Mechanical ability enough to learn how to effectively operate complex equipment, with familiarity with shipping couriers, their services and guidelines desired
• Ability to operate a PC; familiarity with Microsoft applications desired
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cooperative team with other Administrative Services staff and other company personnel
• Ability to project and maintain consistent professional appearance and behavior
• Ability to work standing 100% of the time, and perform duties requiring consistent bending, reaching and heavy lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds independently and heavier packages with assistance
• Ability to consistently and reliably work an 8-hour shift. Start times could vary from 7:30 – 10:30 and end times from 4:00 – 7:00 - with occasional overtime as needed
