POSITION OBJECTIVE:
This position is responsible for supporting the Textile Technologist in maintaining all product testing guidelines to meet legal requirement, update and maintain care code data base and providing technical support on fabrics for assigned areas. Works closely with Textile technologist to support quality alerts and problem solving with Cross Functional Teams (CFT) as needed.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Reviews, as part of a team, risk assessment evaluation and resolution of fabric development testing.
• Supports the bulk fabric and garment testing recap reviews.
• Investigates causes and provides risk assessment to brand on bulk fabric issues.
• Assists with garment quality investigations and corrective actions.
• Responsible for the organization and maintenance for all required testing documents.
• Maintains updates of new testing protocol documents into database.
• Contributes to the care and content label review for respective area as outlined by policies.
• Guides and instructs mills on any new product testing or protocol.
• Partners with leader to ensure that regulatory and performance changes are kept up to date with current industry standards.
• Partners with manager to develop and maintain working relationships with raw material suppliers, agent, and vendor partners globally.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Textile technology or related fields strongly preferred
• 3+ years’ experience in fabric technology required
• Detail oriented and ability to drive to completion with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Advanced understanding of fabric raw materials and processes
• Solid raw material construction knowledge
• Clear understanding of raw material manufacturing techniques
• Proficient computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft office suite Excel and Flex PLM
