Manager, Operations Support

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Supervises associates involved in the Installation, configuration, and support of the organizations technology operations including data and voice communication networks and the Internet system. Ensures data and communication hardware and software and various network and system technologies are properly maintained. Supervises such areas as computer operations, production scheduling, data entry, and user support/help desk functions.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Responsible for overall management of the division including personnel administration, budgeting, purchasing, determining internal priorities, goals and objectives, and related activities.
* Supervises employees; assigns and reviews work, trains, counsels, completes performance evaluations, recommends personnel actions, and performs related work.
* Responsible for the integrity, planning, system research, design, implementation and problem resolution of the assigned technology function.
* Maintains liaison with user departments to assess and evaluate information technology related requirements.
* Keeps abreast of the latest technologies; evaluates technologies and advises management of new and beneficial technologies.
* Identifies both existing and potential problem areas, initiates corrective action and recommends reallocation of resources dictated by out of balance workload conditions.
* Interacts with communications vendors and hardware suppliers regarding the acquisition/discontinuance of equipment and maintenance support. Negotiates the best possible terms from purchase and support contractors.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent;
* 5+ years experience in system support/operations
* Previous supervisor or leadership experience in a technical support role
* Intermediate experience gathering business requirements for IT projects.
* Intermediate experience with network, telecom, or web systems.
* Must have the ability to work in a fast pace environment and react to situations as they arise in the appropriate manner.
* Ability to analyze and resolve issues via telephone.
* Ability to work independently or in a team environment and effectively meet project deliverables on time.
* Must be dependable, punctual, and reliable.
* Must be flexible and available to provide off-hours support.
