POSITION OBJECTIVE:

This position is a leadership role requiring strong modeling and analytical capabilities to drive sizable, complex, cross functional results. This role Supports the entire Chico’s US segment and requires a broad understanding across the entire business to enable collaboration with multiple business stakeholders to gain an understanding of complex organizational problems from varied perspectives. This position influences the business to redefine problem statements and design multi-stage, data-driven solutions to real-world problems.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads all advanced analytics projects for a small business area, category or prototype across platforms based on broad industry and organizational knowledge. Ensures solution and analytical plans reflect business priorities.
  • Leads the development and implementation of data models for all projects within a small business area or category. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to align modeling solutions with business priorities and strategies. Defines, tests, and implements optimization strategies utilizing simulation, transportation management, and other systems to achieve optimal business outcomes.
  • Directs the implementation of production-ready complex algorithms and models for all projects. Develops the testing and validation methodology and processes. Presents production-ready algorithms to cross-functional partners (e.g., software engineering, category management) to gain buy-in. Partners with product and technology teams to define future roadmap of transportation optimization capabilities and ensures the successful deployment of enhancements.
  • Uses big data and cutting-edge data mining techniques, provide guidance on analytic techniques and business applications to unlock the value of our data set.
  • Researches industry metrics and business context and bring this context to bear in analyses.
  • Directs analysis of business issues, considering team structures and iteration models needed to develop innovative solutions. Partners with leadership across all analytics functions to define the data analysis strategies based on business priorities.
  • Proactively maintains existing relationships and develops new relationships with external business partners and vendors.
  • Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.
  • Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas.
  • Evaluates complex, cross-functional business situations, supported by data analytics, to derive actionable insights to drive top and bottom-line growth.
  • Perform marketing effectiveness analytics, including understanding appropriate mix of marketing spend, effectiveness of new programs, and appropriate options on coupons and discounts.
  • Proactively identify best practices through benchmarking and other forms of learning information from industry leaders.
  • Values individuality and the diverse talents of their team. Leads the team by communicatingexpectations, providing guidance, delivering feedback, and empowering the team to be their best.


QUALIFICATIONS:

·Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD

·Master’s degree preferred in quantitative/relevant field such as Statistics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Economics, Business Administration, etc.

·7+ years of analytical experience in applying solutions to business problems in relevant fields such as analytics, business consulting, or other related functions

·Strong business acumen with proven ability to solve business problems through industry-leading engineering methodologies.

·Experienced knowledge of databases and engineering concepts with hands on experience with one or more data analytics/programming tools such as SAS/Hive/R/SQL/Python

·Knowledge of big data engineering stack including Hadoop, Spark, Kafka and other related components

·Familiarity or experience with data mining and statistical modeling (e.g., regression modeling, clustering techniques, decision trees, etc.) is strongly preferred

·Prior experience with Visa or clients of Visa handling analytic applications of payment data is a plus

·Proficient using database technologies and distributed data sources (e.g. SQL, No SQL, R, Python, SQL, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, PyMC3, etc)

·Experience with cloud environments and big data technologies (e.g., GCP-Big Query)

·Collaborative code development experience, including version control, unit/integration testing, code review and sharing (preferably in Git)

·Detailed orientation is expected to ensure the highest level of quality in planning and roadmap development for deliverables

·Proven track record in translating analytics output to significant recommendations, and delivery

·Experience in communicating ideas and analysis to a technical audience

·Exhibit intellectual curiosity and strive to continually learn
