Chico’s FAS, through its brands – Chico's, White House | Black Market, Soma Intimates, and Boston Proper, is a leading women's omni-channel specialty retailer of private branded, sophisticated, casual-to-dressy clothing, intimates, complementary accessories, and other non-clothing items. Under the Chico’s, White House | Black Market, Soma Intimates and Boston Proper names, the company operates about 1,500 boutiques and outlets throughout the U.S. and Canada and has direct-to-consumer channels for each of its brands.

In the Global Sourcing function at Chico’s FAS, Inc., We Love What We Do! We have a passion for bringing product “to life” for our customers. The essence of what we do is embodied in our collaboration with our global business partners and internal partners in Design, Merchandising and Product Development. We are responsible for the execution of our product from initial prototype to final production. We are constantly seeking new sourcing opportunities for best quality, cost, speed, and product execution. The Sourcing team is dynamic, creative, proactive, solution-oriented, and resourceful in our commitment to delivering quality products and services across our brands – Chico’s, White House Black Market & Soma. Here at Chico’s FAS, we have proven market success, financial resources and are growing.


Exciting initiatives at Chico’s FAS Global Sourcing are underway or in planning stages:

  • Speed Sourcing Initiatives: Work is being done to clearly define tools and process to achieve SPEED through the definition and utilization of 3 key "FAST" levers: Positioning Fabric/Raw Materials, Positioning open capacity, and utilizing Air Freight. Depending on the product and the speed needed, the business will be able to select from the above "menu" depending on how "FAST" a particular product needs to be.
  • Product Life Cycle Management Implementation: A fully integrated product design and development solution that will facilitate enterprise-wide efficiencies in the management of our product through its life cycle, from initial concept to purchase order. The application will support a collaborative and seamless workspace for all internal and external teams who engage with the product.
  • Country of Origin Migration Plans: Development of a diversified manufacturing country of origin portfolio to mitigate risk and optimize quality, cost and speed.
  • Supplier Council Initiative: At Chico’s, we emphasize partnership – both external and internal. One great example is our Supplier Council. This is a forum in which Global Sourcing and the leadership of our Brands meet with our Strategic Vendor Partners to share ideas, define priorities, and develop processes to enhance efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Envision: Envison Software provides Chico’s the opportunity to manage color electronically. The software combined with a special calibrated monitor allows us to view “true” color of various material substrates. After evaluating colors of different material types together we are able to communicate adjustments to the supply base electronically.
  • Lab Certification Programs: This program provides for us to approve Vendors and Mills to perform lab tests in their factory rather than sending product to be tested by outside laboratories. This reduces overall costs and improves speed to market.
  • Other future plans include developing new countries of origin, speed sourcing, finding the most fashion forward materials, leveraging purchasing power, increased vendor collaboration, and time/cost/transparency initiatives
  • Executive Management Training Program & Internships: We are working to expand our current Executive Management Training Program & Internships to include functions in the Global Sourcing group.

  • Our Global Sourcing Leadership Team is comprised of an experienced and well-travelled group of industry leaders with diverse backgrounds, including manufacturers, top retailers and wholesalers, luxury brands, fabric mills, and start ups. Associates have the opportunity to travel domestically as well as abroad to Europe and Asia.


    Our highly skilled and regarded teams manage the production of product across a wide range of fashion categories (apparel, intimates, accessories). We operate as a highly integrated team with our brands and global supplier community -- we are about delivering innovation, expertise, value and speed to market.
